I'm a Canadian girl from Colorado who, when and if I grow up, wants to be a ski bum. So logically I go to school in New England. You know, just in case skiing falls through. I grew up in the Rocky Mountains (my mom lives outside Denver, my dad lives outside Vail) and have been hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, camping and skiing my whole life. I always had dirty hands, torn jeans, wore t-shirts and went to outdoor hippie music festivals. I still like the seclusion and inspiration of nature. However I'm on the East Coast now for school and am essentially getting a BA in cities (aka Urban Studies). I want to go to law school and work in urban redevelopment and revitalization projects. I'm also getting an AAS in American Sign Language Interpretation but that's a non sequitur. I love Boston, Denver, New York, Providence and DC. I love riding the T/subway/metro around because I can. I love analyzing urban planning. I love people watching. I love exploring. I guess things really aren't that different after all. I'm wildly committed to reproductive justice. I teach comprehensive sex ed to kids in low-income urban schools and escort women at Planned Parenthood. I'm also a DI athlete who's constantly subjected to foot surgeries/injuries. Joy. When I'm not out walking around, skiing, drinking, working or sliding by in school I watch a lot of SVU and listen to a lot of Streetlight Manifesto. |
